Final Major Project 1
Filming For Drama Students
Leading into the final major project, myself and a few others put our names forward to record a 20-minute-long scene from the movie Osage County. Filming had to be completed within one day, leading to major time constraints due to the already complicated nature of the scene itself. In the end, we successfully ended up having recorded all necessary scenes within our time limit (included some added time gained from delaying pickup taxis). Overall, the people who brought us in for this project left left happy with the work we have done, so I am also happy with my first attempt at directing a larger-scale video.
Final Major Project 1
Evaluation
Here is where I’ll place my evaluation of the drama student’s scene. I will include details regarding the difficulties faced regarding lighting inconsistencies, sound, general difficulties and what we had to learn and try in order to fix these issues as best as we can. Overall, despite its amateurish looks, I’m happy with the outcome of the project, especially considering that a blockbuster movie could be finished in around a month if forced to work to our time frame (with obvious hits in quality as well).

Behind The Scenes
One of our members helping film the scene for the drama class was also tasked with documenting and creating a behind the scenes for the project. This video helps provide a visual element to the work mentioned above.
College In The Community Day Music Students’ Performance (Editing)
Performance video
To celebrate the College In The Community Day, the music students put on a performance. I put myself forward, along with a few other people primarily from a level 2 class, and we worked together to film it. There were numerous unique challenges that we had to face whilst filming this, which will be covered in the evaluation below.

Evaluation
There were numerous difficulties experienced that I will be documenting in my evaluation for this project, regarding a small crew, tiny filming location, and added rules to be followed regarding filming around young, protected members of the LGBTQ.
Helping Others With Their FMP
Due to how busy my own group’s FMP was, I was unable to help out as many groups as I had expected. I ended up taking on a last-minute role of playing one of the main characters. This was my first time acting and allowed me to learn a lot about directing from the perspective of the directed. The video was entirely filmed within one day of filming.
Final Major Project 2
Ruin
For the final major project, we worked to create our most ambitious concept yet. We wanted it to stand out – and deliver it to the best possible quality we can achieve. Overall, I have mixed feelings as a harsh critic of myself, though the large sums of knowledge I’ve gained from pushing so far out of my comfort zone make this one of the most helpful projects I’ve worked on.
Final Major Project 2
Pitch
Upon presenting our idea to the class and our tutor, we were met with positive comments on our confident delivery and good level of research. We recieved one question from the tutor, which was luckily something we were already working on, and no questions from the class. Some students commented on aspects of our delivery, which we aim to implement in projects moving forward to make our future pitches more engaging for our intended audiences. I’ve included a recorded copy of our pitch here as well.

Academic Report
During the pre-production stages of this project, I collected and compiled all of my relevant research into this academic report. I also regularly updated the section relating to problem solving in order to keep me coming back to the file and ensuring that as much of it as possible was synthesised and relevant (which is especially important with higher word counts).

Evaluation
In order to cement and log the many lessons I’ve learned over the course of this particular project, I’ve documented the processes we’ve gone through in creating it and wrote about the lessons learned and techniques I’ve been able to practice and work on. This is currently an early draft and may receive changes over the following week or so.
Showreel
Mk College 2022-23 Academic Progress Showreel
To celebrate the end of the first academic year of our media course, we were all tasked with creating our own individual showreels to represent the difficulties and triumphs of this past year on the course. I’ve loved the last year and I heavily look forward to the challenges the future will bring me. Many thanks to everyone who’s helped and will help me moving forward.
