Alongside the written element of this unit, we were also tasked with forming small groups and creating a visual tribute to the style of a chosen filmmaker. I also chose to focus on Stanley Kubrick’s style of film-making by recreating one of the famous scenes from The Shining. I focused on editing the video in a way that the pacing of each cut and shot content would match in a way where you can watch our tribute at the same time as the original clip and find them both in time. I believe I went a little too far regarding color, which is something I plan to work on before and during the FMP.
