Half-Term

During the half-term break, I balanced an opportunity to relax a bit and refresh myself before going into FMP period with catching up on some editing for projects I’d filmed over previous weeks. This included editing a corporate video that I had the opportunity to direct the previous week between other filming sessions. This was my first opportunity working on something corporate/business-focused, and gave me an opportunity to practice my professionalism as well as new approaches to directing as to ensure the end product is informative, my first time prioritising anything other than entertainment in a filmed project. I’ve ran into some minor complications regarding the editing of the audio as the person overseeing the recording of the VoiceOver left spaces between every couple of words – creating unnatural pauses within each sentence. I’ve had to splice specific sections from each recording so as to provide as natural of an end result as possible. Next time, I’d like to take on a more active directing role for audio recording, or have someone take on the role of directing the audio to prevent issues like this moving forward.
