This was a stressful week for me, as the day we had booked arrived during this period. We had numerous difficulties leading up to and during this day, which require some quick, thinking. Problems with securing actors, creating the set, and a camera falling onto the floor and almost breaking, compounded into getting all but 4 shots completed during our 1 day allotment.
It took us several hours to make the set the way we needed to for filming, with difficulties regarding sound and the video occurring throughout. We were very lucky to be able to receive extra time the following day in the morning, before a separate group came in to film. This allowed us to finalise the filming of our sitcom’s on-set scenes and dedicate our focus to the editing and extra scenes.
We also used the days leading up to our booked filming session to finalise our script and film some of the remaining scenes to be edited in in post. I altered some dialogue on the script, added some stage directions, camera directions, and rough placements for cuts (to allow our impromptu actors more time to learn their lines and positions). We have ended the week with only two others scenes to film and edit in the coming weeks alongside starting our official edits.
