Week 9

This week I managed to film the second band, which gave me a great first opportunity to work on something that was primarily focused on visual effects. We did experience large technical difficulties during the beginning of our filming, whereas the footage we’d gained during our first few takes was lost and had to be re-recorded – alongside other difficulties such as working out positions in relation to effects we’ll be adding in post (as well as issues setting up band equipment).

We also used the end of the week in order to record a video version of a pitch for our upcoming sitcom/multi-cam project. This is our first time working on both a filmed pitch, as well as a pitch for a more humour-focused concept. Our plan was to pre-record our footage and then edit it in order to improve the creative/comedic elements of it. We set out our slides and purposefully left space for comedy, before ad-libbing and implementing comedy on the spot. We’ll be editing 2 versions of the pitch, one more professional and another with a higher focus on fun, energetic editing to boost the impact of each comedic moment.
