It’s been a busy week, with a few more small deadlines having came up. I finished up a business proposal form for my employability skills class, and finished the last touches on my academic report for an upcoming project. We’ve officially started the pre-production process now, and I look forward to uploading it alongside the finished product sometime in December.
We also started recording a purposefully amateurish tribute to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, primarily in order to get ourselves reacquainted with the cameras and equipment and give a head start on a separate unit relating to studying the life of a filmmaker. During the week, I had a few opportunities to help out other groups from different classes. At this stage in the year, they were working on short films that don’t utilise any audio recorded by the class themselves. I worked as an extra in one and helped out with as much as possible for another. This second group gave me a really interesting first experience with absurdism, as well as an opportunity to work with more people and different ideas.
